Ironwood and Eaglesmith consists of husband and wife duo Sam and Kitty Speer, who have joined creative forces to create beautiful bespoke furniture crafted from reclaimed materials.
Both Sam and Kitty have spent their years working with tactile design.
Sam's love for woodwork was instilled when he was in his teens, where his natural ability to work with timber was discovered. He then went on to teach children at a local woodworking school. Also a trained mechanic, Sam has been running his own workshop specialising in vintage cars and motorcycles, with a focus on custom builds. The combined foundations bring attention to detail, quality workmanship, strong engineering and industrial character to every piece.
Kitty's background is quite diverse, spanning Interior Design and Decoration, Bookbinding and Graphic Design. Her passion is working with fabric, designing and creating soft toys, quilts and other lovable items for babies and children. She also has an appreciation of vintage design, whether it be automotive, industrial or textiles. Kitty brings her design knowledge to the partnership, assisting with the initial designs and concepts and adding the final touches to make each piece truly unique.
